The January tournament was cold starting off, however with the help of lots of sunshine the weather warmed just enough.

One team heated up to shoot ten (-10) under par. The other team shot nine (-9) under (only two 4 man teams played).

Winning the polar event were: Dennis Daugherty, Gary Lemley, Mike Love and Pete Christersen. This was a blind draw for partners.

Others that played were: Roger Dowdall, Don Miley, Danny Britt and George Ricardo.

Mike Love does it again, he wins the money hole for the second time with a very good shot that we all witnessed, landing about 15 feet past

the hole then drawing back to within just a few inches of the cup. Great shot Mike.

Other closest to the pin winners were: Mike Love hole #9 & #12 and Pete Christersen hole #16.

Next event: Feb 8th, Huntington Park 9:am shotgun. This is not a blind draw tourney.

Greystone Country Club in Cabot, Arkansas on May 1-2, 2009 is the place for the ArkLa Challenge golf tournament which is the event that

brings Moose Lodge golfers from each state together for fun and competition. Any Moose member from either state is welcomed to play this event.

 The course : http://www.greystonedevelopment.com/clubhouse.html

“Meandering through the 1,850 acre dazzling community of Greystone, are two championship 18-hole golf courses:

Mountain Springs, which boasts challenging play with exquisite rock formations, waterfalls and natural splendor, and

Cypress Creek, with a weaving creek and three reflective lakes bringing water into play on five holes.”

Green fees $28 to $30 I did not get an exact amount. We will play Friday on their Cypress Course and Saturday on the Mountain Course.

Tee time  Friday 1:00pm --- Saturday 9:00am

Contact me George Ricardo or email glricardo@comcast.net if you want to play this event.

My understanding is the Arkansas group says  “Louisiana will not take the trophy back to Louisiana”

All we say is “Bring it on”.

Have fun enjoy golf
